Random Little Moments

Mommy made this Thomas the Train out of a big box. Isn't it cool?

Daddy punished me for the first time with a rattan because I yelled rudely at him.

I just love this big 'bling bling'.

Mommy made this bouquet of 'flowers' out of chocolates and helped me with my
Teachers' Day card.

This is my teacher, Teacher Aida

Daddy borrowed this baju melayu for Hari Raya Puasa celebration at my playschool. Don't I look handsome?

I made this cozy bed out of my old bath tub all by myself.  It was so comfortable that I almost fell asleep while watching cartoon.

National Day 2009

It was Singapore's 44th birthday and Teacher Aida told us to wear red and white, the colour of
our flag.

I spied mommy at the window with a camera, so I rushed over and posed for her.

Daddy and mommy failed to get any ticket for NDP. However, we were able to join Young NTUC in Padang for mini concert and celebration. A big thank you to Aunty Maria who gave us the tickets.

The best part was that I get to bring home the NDP Fun pack! I love the fun packs!

A few of my favourites in the fun bag:

1) Chocolate cream roll
2) Chocolate cream crackers
3) Fruity candies
4) Dino gummies
5) Mineral water
6) Green tea,
7) Isotonic drink
8) Hand-shaped drum
9) NDP 2009 tattoos
10) Heart-shaped lantern,
11) Peach-scented wet tissues,
12) Miniature Singapore flag ...................

There's even Nasi Lemak for dinner, and that, the spectators watching NDP at the stadium don't have (^-^)v

Everyone was up on their feet waving their flags and singing national day songs. I was delighted as I recognized some of the songs as those taught by Teacher Aida.

The March Past

A heart warming event that the spectators at the stadium could not experience, and it was the lighting of candles before reciting the pledge. The passing of the light from person to person symbolised that even when one of us is down and out, the rest of us can give strength and support each other along the way.

The night looked so beautiful with the field aglowed with the light from candles.

I stared in surprise as bursts of magnificent colours suddenly lighted up the sky! It was so spectacular! It was the first time I saw fireworks and I fell in love. I am really glad to be there.

Last holiday with Grandpa

Grandpa is not feeling well. He was gentle and affectionate... but lately he has became suspicious, fearful and easily upset.  Daddy explained that grandpa has a brain disorder that destroys brain cells, causing problems with his thinking, behavior and memory.
Grandma wanted to take a short trip with grandpa before his condition gets worse, hoping to have a last happy memory with grandpa...

Cruise Virgo

Day Two - Penang

Sleeping Buddha Temple - Inside the temple lies a 33 metre long reclining Buddha. It is the largest Buddha in Malaysia and third largest in the world.  Grandpa and grandma were here in the 60s for their honeymoon.

Daddy lit a lotus candle to pray for grandpa's health

The adults were so excited to see this traditional, old-fashioned local shop. Mommy says that it was stocked like a provision store in the 80s, and walking through that shop was like being brought back in time.

Day Three - Phuket

Cashew Nut Factory, a must-visit store whenever we went Phuket. I loved its chocolate flavored cashew nuts while mommy adored its cashew nut candies.

Wanted to visit the zoo but - 1) Zoo closed; 2) Raining; and 3) Me and kor kor napping.
Poor Jie Jie was sooo disappointed...

We headed to Potong Beach instead but had to chill in a Burger King due to the rain.

Day Four - On the Cruise

Daddy was thrilled to stumble upon a fruit carving demonstration after breakfast.

Grandpa's confusion had turned for the worse, causing the adults some frustration.  Kor kor and me were blissfully ignorant, and continue to amuse ourselves with our carefree games.
