Last holiday with Grandpa

Grandpa is not feeling well. He was gentle and affectionate... but lately he has became suspicious, fearful and easily upset.  Daddy explained that grandpa has a brain disorder that destroys brain cells, causing problems with his thinking, behavior and memory.
Grandma wanted to take a short trip with grandpa before his condition gets worse, hoping to have a last happy memory with grandpa...

Day Two - Penang

Sleeping Buddha Temple - Inside the temple lies a 33 metre long reclining Buddha. It is the largest Buddha in Malaysia and third largest in the world.  Grandpa and grandma were here in the 60s for their honeymoon.

Daddy lit a lotus candle to pray for grandpa's health

The adults were so excited to see this traditional, old-fashioned local shop. Mommy says that it was stocked like a provision store in the 80s, and walking through that shop was like being brought back in time.

Day Three - Phuket

Cashew Nut Factory, a must-visit store whenever we went Phuket. I loved its chocolate flavored cashew nuts while mommy adored its cashew nut candies.

Wanted to visit the zoo but - 1) Zoo closed; 2) Raining; and 3) Me and kor kor napping.
Poor Jie Jie was sooo disappointed...

We headed to Potong Beach instead but had to chill in a Burger King due to the rain.

Day Four - On the Cruise

Daddy was thrilled to stumble upon a fruit carving demonstration after breakfast.

Grandpa's confusion had turned for the worse, causing the adults some frustration.  Kor kor and me were blissfully ignorant, and continue to amuse ourselves with our carefree games.
